Blockquotes are set off from the body text.

If the last paragraph of a blockquote starts with an em-dash, it’s turned into an attribution footer.

Sitting there they could see the whole world spread out until it reached the sky, and whatever there was all the world over was with them in Galleons Lap.

Long attribution footers wrap, but don’t extend all the way across the blockquote. From Jane Hirsfield’s poem “Tree.”
