Yellow and Black Boats by Jennifer Bartlett
(1985) A triptych painting of a shoreline and two boats, one yellow and one black. In front of the triptych, the two boats as objects. Opposite the triptych, large gallery windows look out on the nearby beach. In the distance, along the shoreline, you can see two more objects, the same boats again.
The boats on the shore were added to the piece when the work was acquired by the Benesse Art Site Museum.
